| 2012-13 STUDENT ACADEMIC CALENDAR CHOSEN! |
After two months of discussion and stakeholder feedback, the Board formally approved Option 3 as RISD's 2012-2013 Student Academic Calendar. The approved calendar features the traditional length of Winter Break, first semester exams before Winter Break, an end to the school year of June 6 and graduations on June 9 and 10, 2013. More than 3,800 stakeholders responded to the calendar survey, with 74 percent of respondents favoring Option 3. DOWNLOAD THE NEW CALENDAR HERE.
April 2012 Update: Due to a change in the state's STAAR testing calendar, RISD's 2012-13 Student Academic Calendar has been revised. A snow make up day previously scheduled on Monday, April 1, 2013 has been moved to Friday, May 24, 2013. Monday, April 1, 2013 will now be a normal school day for students and staff, while Friday, May 24, 2013 will now be a student and staff holiday unless it is needed as a snow make up day. Hard copies of the 2012-13 Student Academic Calendar are now being printed and will be available to parents through their child's school toward the end of this school year or as part of enrollment materials for next year. |
